CHURCH HILL – John Leslie Hanson, 86, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2020.
John had lived in Hawkins County since 1960. He retired at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a former teacher in Hawkins County School System and was a former pastor at Looneys Chapel Baptist Church of Surgoinsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Hanson; parents, Edward Arthur and Beulah Hanson.
John is survived by his son, Charles Mike Hanson; daughters, Patricia Mann and Robin Marsh (Tim); grandchildren, David Mann (Rachel), Karen Lyon (Travis), Heather Click, Sarah Click-Christian (Adam); great grandchild, Raven Mann; soon to arrive great grandchild, Sylvia Click-Christian.
A visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randy Lantz officiating. A private graveside will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, January 15 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holston Valley Baptist Association, 207 N. Hawkins Street Rogersville, TN 37857.
