~~Linton Dean HarroldChurch Hill – Linton Harrold, 69, passed away Thursday (May 11, 2017) after a lengthy illness. Born in Sullivan Co. to the late Joe Jr. and Aggelena Craig Harrold, he had resided in Hawkins Co. for many years.Linton was a veteran of the United States Army having proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, receiving the Bronze Star Medal. He was a retiree of the Eastman Chemical Company with 32 years of service and later became a bus driver for the Hawkins County School System. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School and was a member of the Mt. Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church.Before his illness, Linton enjoyed working outdoors and liked to fish. He will be missed by his friends and family who loved him.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Chad Harrold, grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Dewey Craig, father and mother-in-law, Floyd and Nina Simpson, uncles, Hugh Harrold, Dewey Lee Craig and Louellen Craig and aunt, LaEula Harrold, cousin, Madge.Linton is survived by his wife, Peggy Harrold, daughter, Deana Dorton and husband Jason, 3 special grandsons, Luke Dorton, Eli Dorton and Kage Harrold, brother, Joe and wife Barbara, aunt Marjorie Craig and many extended family and friends.Calling hours are from 5 to 6:30 pm Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Elder Frank Gilliam, Elder Fred Gilreath and Elder Oscar Irvin officiating. Music provided by Kage Harrold and Haley Lemmons.Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 pm Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Mt. Mitchell Church Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, TN with military honors conducted by the American Legion Posts 3/265 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jason Dorton, Luke Dorton, Eli Dorton, Kage Harrold, Brandon Lemmons, Jerry Arnold, Bob Dixon and Bill Dorton. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:45 Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions to the Mt. Mitchell Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Melissa Smith, P.O. Box 1605, Mt.
