CHURCH HILL – Margaret Lois Kitchings, 86, passed away Tuesday (April 14, 2014) at Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center following an extended illness.She was a native of North Tazwell, Virginia and lived several years in Louden, Tennessee before moving to Church Hill in 1963. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Church Hill. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Fairview Chapter # 80, Order of Eastern Star and also served in the Grand Chapter. She was a founding member of the Church Hill Community Clothes Closet and was very active in Mission trips for her church.She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Marvin Kitchings, Sr., her parents, Joseph and Margaret Walden Mundy; four sisters and four brothers.She is survived by one son, Ken Kitchings, Jr. and wife, Jayne, Church Hill; two daughters, Kathy Chamberlain and husband, Scott, Church Hill; Susan Kitchings, Kingsport; six grandchildren; Neal Robinette, Matthew Chamberlain, Kenny Kitchings, III, Wendy Chamberlain, Julie Robinette, Beth Freeman; six great grandchildren; one sister, Violet Sparks, Hemit, California; special caregiver and wild child, Rhonda Shoemaker.Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.Services will be conducted Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Josh Kilbourne officiating.Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.
