Mount Carmel – Marjorie Smith Harless, age 89, of Mount Carmel, TN, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July, 4, 2016 at the Holston Manor following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and loved her years in Goshen Valley. Marjorie worked for 25 years at the Mount Carmel Drug Store and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mount Carmel and previously the First Church of God in Kingsport. Margie will be greatly missed by her family and friends, she never met a stranger and always wanted to be a help to someone. Margie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved the time she spent at Mount Carmel Senior Citizens and the Clothes Closet.She is preceded in death by her husband; Claude S. Harless, son; Gary H. Harless, great grandson; Jessee Mullins, mother and father; Fannie and Presley Smith, special in laws; Ira and Ethel Garrett, grandparents, who raised her Byrd and Kate Marshall, brother, special aunt Dorothy and many family members and friends.Marjorie is survived by her son; Ronnie Harless and wife, Sharon of Indiana, her daughters; Janet VanWinkle of Mount Carmel, Thelma Harless and significant other, Steve McClulough of Surgoinsville, grandchildren; Kimberlee Burns, Kyle Harless, Eddie Mullins, Matthew Harless and Gordon Harless and 8 great grandchildren. Sister; Pat Williams and husband, Lance of South Carolina, several nieces, nephews and friends.Calling hours are from 5 to 8 pm Thursday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral home and anytime at the home of her daughter Janet VanWinkle.Graveside services will be conducted 10 am Friday at the East Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Michael Driver officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the East Lawn Cemetery by 9:50 am Friday morning.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Goshen Valley and the Mt.
