CHURCH HILL – Mark Alan Depew, beloved husband, devoted son and friend to all, passed away December 15, 2015 with his family by his side, following a brave, 3 1/2 year battle with a GBM, brain tumor. He was 46.Mark was born on March 20, 1969, the first day of spring, in Johnson City, Tennessee, He was raised in Pfafftown, North Carolina and lived there until moving back to Johnson City to attend ETSU in 1987. Mark opened R&M Garage Doors in 1995 with hard work and honesty. The business remains open today, still using the same principals. He was a member of the FUMC and served on the board of trustees. He loved his church family and attended as long as his health permitted. He was a man of great faith and character. He had an easy going nature, a real relationship with God and a deep devotion to his family. Mark was known to give good sound advice. He always said, don't be overly focused on worldly treasures or things you have accomplished………you don't get to keep them in heaven. Everyone sins, you just need to ask for forgiveness. And the best was, you can't earn your way into heaven. It’s an incredible gift from God.Mark's strength was a constant reminder that no matter what life throws your way, be prepared. Put your faith in God, and fight for what matters, it will come out right in the end. He brought joy, love and laughs to the center of our family. His smile always seemed to remind us that there would be better days ahead. Today with tears in our eyes, heaven gained a beautiful angel. We will miss your smile, but most of all your dear soul. Stephanie, Dad and I are thankful that we were able to travel the journey with youMark is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie, his devoted parents, Linda and Randy and a host of relatives and friends.
