KINGSPORT- Mary Belle Baldwin, 86, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born in Sullivan County, TN and lived there her whole life. In her early years she took home the first-place trophy from a local drag race. Cooking was her hobby and her passion, but she also loved to go yard selling and she could find a bargain anywhere she went. She was known for her Big As Biscuits, people came from all over to eat her breakfast. Her laugh was contagious, she loved life, and loved to dress up, go out, and go dancing. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and her family was her life.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents, John, and Lakie Baldwin; special sons-in-law, Joseph Cate (he called her Flossy Bell), and Al Johnson; cousins, Shirley Byrd, Nancy Hammonds, and Lois Bare; and her beloved doggie, Minnie Belle.

She is survived by her children, Eloise “Cookie” Cate, Penny Johnson, Mark Baldwin (Dr Christina Hutchins Baldwin), Steve Baldwin, Stephanie Taylor (Richard), and Laura Powell; grandchildren, John Cate (Kayrenee Walker), Danielle Gilmore (Joseph), Jennifer Rohrssen, Jeremiah Johnson, Hayley, Harper, and Heath Baldwin, Matthew Stapleton, Austin Taylor, Alexandra and Nicholas Hite; great-grandchildren, Kara and Joseph Gilmore and Joseph Robertson; special cousin, Lawrence “Buddy” Linkous; as well as several dear family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Jonathan Bear officiating. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

A special thank you to Ballad Health Home Hospice Care nurses, especially Hope, for their loving care given to our precious mother.
