Minnie Pearl Cox, 90, of Church Hill, TN was called home to eternal rest Wednesday, September 13th, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 26th, 1926 in Church Hill, TN and was the Daughter of the late George and Sally Lyons Price. She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, the late Homer Sylvester Cox. To that union four sons and three daughters were born.At an early age Minnie accepted her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was passionate about her church, Lyons Chapel A.M.E. Zion (New Canton, TN), loved reading her Bible, and was an effectual fervent prayer warrior. Duties held in her church were: Missionary lifetime member (allowing her to receive her purple stole), Deaconess Board member, Usher, Choir member, Conference worker on the Board of the Pastor’s Aid, and Mother of the church. She received several plaques and certificates for her devoted and tireless service. She loved baking, especially her Carmel icing pound cake.Minnie was preceded by her parents, George and Sally Lyons Price; her husband, Homer S. Cox; son, Sammy Cox; brothers, Melvin, Thomas, Charles, and Robert Price; two beloved son-in-laws, Charles R. Underwood Sr. and Clarence E. Haley and a beloved niece, Marcheta Ford.Minnie is survived by her children Robert Cox, Ronnie Cox (Joyce), Eddie Cox (Anita), Alberta Haley, Marilyn Underwood and Carolyn Harris (Tony); two sisters, Mary K. Brice and Elsie M. Horn; two nephews, Stevie Horn and Stevie Manis; grandchildren, Ronda Cox, Charles R. Underwood Jr., Jonathan Harris, Anthony Harris, Leslie Lee, Brian Cox and Devon Kirton; Seven great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and dear friends.Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joseph Comage, Rev. Pamela Hoard and Rev. Roy Charles officiating. The burial will follow to Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Harris, Anthony Harris, Brian Cox, Devon Kirton, Stevie Manis, Dwight Leeper, O’Neil Johnson and Billy Leeper.
