Norma Jean Marshall, age 83, of Church Hill passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at the Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center following an extended illness,

Mrs. Marshall was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She was retired from the Holston Valley Hospital.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Starnes and Gertrude Thacker Bombailey. Brothers; Tilman Bombailey, Billy Ray Bombailey and Eugene Bombailey. Sisters; Mattie Hensley, Faye Green and Louise Goins.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Everette Marshall of the home. Sons and daughter-in-laws; Danny & Diane Marshall, Roger & Waynette Marshall of Church Hill. Grandchildren; Kristie Dunn and husband, Adam, Candice Marshall and Ryan Marshall. Great grandchildren; Matthew Dunn, Kirkland Dunn, Gabriel Marshall and Adlee Seals. Brothers; Howard & Ilene Bombailey, Albert Bombailey of Church Hill. Special niece; Sheila Stephan and her husband, Rick and their children. Several other nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Billy Linkous and Rev. Pat Hammond officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 AM Friday at the Elm Springs Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Friday morning to go in procession to the cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of the Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital 2nd floor, 5th floor and the ICU for their special care.
