CHURCH HILL- O.M. Berry, 81, of Church Hill passed away on Thursday (January 29, 2015) at John Reed Nursing Home.Born in Scott County, VA, he was the son of the late Buren Berry and Dora Mae Berry. Mr. Berry was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid gardner and was always proud of his vegetable garden.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Maxie Ruth Berry, who passed away on December 27, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Gay, two brothers, Harold and T.M. Berry (his twin).He is survived by a special daughter and caregiver, Alicia Dawn McLain and husband, Keith of Surgoinsville, five sisters-in-law, Lula Mae Bloomer, Ohio, Dorothy Robinette, Rogersville, Nina Vaughn, Ohio, Velma Vaughn, Kingsport, Barbara Berry, Virginia, several nieces and nephews, and special friends in Idaho.The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Monday at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill.Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Lignor officiating.Graveside services will be conducted following the service at McPheeters Bend Church cemetery.Pallbearers will be Keith McLain, Mark Dobbs, David Kinchloe, Eddie Short, Oz Osbourne, and Dale Arnold.
