Surgoinsville, TNOpal "Sis" Calhoun Hunley, age 84, of Surgoinsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Asbury Place of Kingsport. She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County, and attended Phipps Bend Free Will Baptist Church as long as her health allowed.She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Reeves Hunley, parents; Bill and Aggie Calhoun, brother and sister-in-law; A.D. and Ruth Calhoun.Surviving are her children, Debbie and Jimmy Manis of Kingsport, Donna and Joe Vallely of Nashville, Cathy and Rusty Jones of Church Hill, David and Vickie Hunley of Surgoinsville, and Kristi and Keith Lisenby of Church Hill. Grandchildren; Billy and Kim Barton and their children, Lane, Kendall and Walker, Kylie and Matthew Price and their son, Marshall; Jason and Nora Barton and their children, Raenah, Vada and Charlie; April Bachman and her children, Hope and Zane, and Mitch and Jessica Hunley and their son, Jake. She is also survived by nephew, Gary and Dewana Calhoun.Calling hours are from 2 to 4 pm Saturday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 4 pm at the Church Hill Memory Gardens with Rev. George Winegar officiating.
