CHURCH HILL – Roger Dale Dinsmore, 77, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
Roger was born in Norton, Virginia in 1945 and lived with his grandmother in Hawkins Co. most of his life. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran, a member of the Sullivan Co. Scottish Rite 32˚ since 1945, a member of the Clay Lodge #386 of Church Hill, a member of Shriners International since 2016, and has pastored several churches over the years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith Dinsmore; parents, B.C. Dinsmore and Rose Falin; and several other family members.
Roger is survived by his half-brother, Ben Dinsmore; sister-in-law, Velma Richards; brother-in-law, Walter Manis (Kathy); as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
A visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ed Maynard and Jesse Hartgrove officiating. A military graveside service will follow to Hawkins County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
