CHURCH HILL – Ruby Christian Collier, 95, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Ruby was born on January 25, 1923 and was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Church Hill since 1946. Ruby taught Sunday School & sang in the church choir. She was an active member of United Methodist Church Women. She retired from Citizens Union Bank of Church Hill. She volunteered at Holston Valley Medical Center & Church Hill Food Pantry. Ruby also was one of the founders of the Community Clothes Closet & a member of Church Hill Senior Citizens Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Earl Collier; daughter, Pamela Jane Collier; grandson, Jeffrey Scott Collier, II; parents Clyde & Virgie Christian; sister, Jewell Hensley.

Ruby is survived by her sons, Keith Collier (Janis), Scott Collier (Denise), & Brad Collier (Terri); grandchildren, Colby Collier (Mandi), Jonathan Lane (Clarissa), Lauren Newberry (Jordan), Adam Collier, Tiffany LaByer (Dan) & Stephanie Ruggeri (Eric); great grandchildren, Cooper Lane, Brayden Lane, Keylee Botkin, Noah Botkin, Asher Collier, Sutton Claire Collier, & Aden Ruggeri; nephew, Jerry Hensley.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Josh Kilbourne officiating. Music will be provided by the choir from First United Methodist Church of Church Hill. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 30 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM to go in procession.

Family & friends will be serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Church Hill, 119 Grandview Street Church Hill, TN 37642, in Ruby’s memory.
