CHURCH HILL – Ruby Nell Jeter, 87, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Asbury Place in Kingsport, TN.
Ruby was born in Church Hill, TN to her parents Daniel Craft Sr. and Elsie (Barrett) Jeter. She earned a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee and retired from UT Extension Service as a 4-H agent in Blount Co. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Church Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, DC Jeter, Jr. (Nancy), and Evaline Jeter Jessee (Earnest).
She is survived by her sisters, Lois Jeter Epperson (Jim, deceased), Mary Carol Jeter; nieces, Camille Jessee, Suzanne Ferrell, Elaine Hillman, Nancy “Dee Dee” Jeter, Catherine Millsaps, and Betsy Culler; several great nieces, nephews, great great nieces, and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family would like the thank the employees at Asbury Place for the love and care given to Ruby.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church in Church Hill.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Church Hill Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
