To the family of Ruby Nell : My wife and I were neighbors of Ruby Nell in the early 1970's in Maryville. She was such a warm and friendly person. She babysat with our very young son a couple of times; because of that and other acts of generosity we came to know her for her many gifts and talents. She had a wonderful career and we are certain she enriched the lives of many individuals during her lifetime. Even after all these years, we still recall and remember the days when Ruby Nell was our neighbor. Hal and Shirley Sharp Staunton, Virginia

I am so sorry to receive this news. My mother, Sue Cox, and Ruby Nell were close friends and worked together in the Extension Service with UT. Ruby Nell, as I was instructed to call her, was a wonderful mentor, friend and "member" of my extended family growing up. We shared many UT football and basketball games and trips to various places all over the southeast in my growing up years, not to mention 4-H events all over the place! We also shared lots of Saturdays and Sundays with the extended UT group just gathered around the lunch and dinner tables. These are wonderful memories and I am thankful for them and for Ruby Nell as a part of them. She will surely be missed! My sincere sympathies and prayers for the Jeter, Jessee and Epperson families for your loss.
