Saundra Denise Gardner, 55, went to dance on the streets of gold on Wednesday, July 31st. Her passing was unexpected and far too soon, but she met her Heavenly Father while in the arms of her family knowing she is loved and adored.
Saundra was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed traveling and making everyone in her world feel special. Her spare time was spent with family, on the farm, traveling with her husband, or at the beach visiting her daughter. She was selfless, the best mother, Queen of Christmas, and always ready to capture every moment with her need to take pictures of everything.
She graduated from Volunteer High School and was employed at Eastman Chemical Company for over 36 years. Saundra was a lifelong member of Lyons Park Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Chad Long; grandparents, George and Mary Chapman, Clay and Rosa Long; aunts, Nancy and Hilda Long; uncles, Wayne and Warren Long, Bill Chapman, and Dallas Larkin; cousin, Carmen Winegar.
Saundra leaves behind to cherish her memory husband, Douglas Lynn Gardner; daughter, Brooke Burns (Clint); parents, Ronald and Glenda Long; sister, Kristy Housewright (Anthony); sister in law, Valerie Duncan (Bill); brother in law, Rodney Gardner (Kim); special nieces, Kendra Brooks, Kaitlyn and Kyndal Shultz, and Arielle Housewright; special nephews, Colin Long (Collie Ollie) and Ryan Gardner (Emily); aunts, Betty Larkin, Ruth Winegar (Ed), Mary Ellen Chapman; uncle, Clayton Long.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home.The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Moore officiating. A graveside service will follow in procession to Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
