Sue McCulley Maness went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully in her home on Sunday October 1, 2023.
Sue is survived by her loving husband, Roger of Church Hill, TN; Sons Robert (Erin) of Range, AL, Joey (Amy) of Bluff City, TN, and Albert (Amanda) of Knoxville, TN as well as her daughters Allysha (Jacob) of Moore, SC and Robyn (Josh) of Mt Carmel, TN. Grandchildren include Jamye, Joel, Beverly, Katie, Robbie, Jaxson, Elijah and Micah. Brother Bob and sisters Leslie and Teresa.
Sue loved her family, both human and furry, fiercely. Along with those listed above, she is survived by her “furry boy” Max, Denver and Bella and other “grand pups”.
She is reunited in Heaven with parents Robert “Bud” McCulley and Edith “Tootsie” Roulette McCulley, Siblings Quinton, Eddie and Pam, and her first “grand pup”, Cooper.
Sue’s favorite activities were caring for her loved ones by cooking, and she had a way of making everyone she spoke to and cared for feel special. She enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, long road trips, playing cards, dancing, and truly being in the presence of her family.
She will be remembered most for the way she cared for those around her. There were times as a single parent she struggled to make ends meet, but praised God for being able to feed every person who came through her home. She made every event in her family’s lives special and a “big deal”. She did her best to always be there for her family and friends through the best times and the most difficult.
Services for Sue will be held on Friday October 6, 2023. Receiving of Friends from 11 AM to 1 PM with funeral services at 1 PM at Johnson Arrowood Funeral Home in Church Hill, TN. Burial immediately to follow at Church Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hawkins County Animal Shelter in her honor.
