SURGOINSVILLE – Victor C. Barrett “Tot”, 98, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 27, 2020.

Tot was an avid farmer. He loved getting up early and heading out to the fields.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Edith Barrett; wife, Stella Franicise Martin Barrett; 1 infant daughter, son, John Herbert Barrett; daughter, Ruby Carolyn Hickman; 1 grandson, and 4 son-in-laws.

Tot is survived by his daughters, Verna E. Horton (Wayne), Grace L. Christian, Nellie Kate Christian, and Alice Faye Greer; son, James Victor Barrett; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; special nephews, J.E. And Virgil Mauk; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the old home place. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor J.E. Mauk and Jamie Mauk officiating. Music will be provided by Wes Morgan and Mekia Hickman. The burial will follow at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
