MOUNT CARMEL – William Henry Bailey, 66, of Mount Carmel, passed away Wednesday (October 27, 2015) surrounded by his loving family following a period of declining health.He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred M. and Juanita Barton Bailey, maternal grandparents, William H. and Sally Skelton Barton, paternal grandparents, Charles Skelton and Lucy Bailey.Henry graduated from Dobyns Bennett in 1967 and ETSU in 1972 with a Bachelors in business Real Estate and belonged to Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. He was a licensed Real Estate Broker and Auctioneer and Appraiser and founded Preferred Properties Real Estate and Bailey and Associates Real Estate Appraisers. He was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Henry was a former alderman in Church Hill and Mount Carmel, he was a member of Greater Tennessee Chapter of Appraisal Institute Knoxville Area Board of Realtors and Knoxville area Board of Realtors and was past president of Hawkins County Board of Realtors and past president of Society of Real Estate Appraisers and holds SRA designations. He was a member of Clay Masonic Lodge # 386 and Knoxville Consistory of Scottish Rite Masons. Henry was actively working as a commercial and residential appraiser up until his death and worked serving Veterans for the Veterans Administration Valuation.He is survived by his wife, Penny Shoemaker Bailey, Mount Carmel, one son, William H. Bailey, II and partner, Johnathon Cribb; two daughters, Allison Michelle Bailey and Amanda Bailey Forstall and husband, Stuart; special grandson, PFC Dylan Chance Bailey, US Army, Raven Millsap and Victoria Stamper; one great grandchild, Asher Zane Bailey; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Brenda Bailey; sister-in-laws, Patti and Tony Grills, Terry and Darlene Shoemaker, John and Darlene Shoemaker, special friends, Jeff Clipse and Charles Bowers; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Johnson~Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.Services will be conducted Friday at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral Home chapel with the Rev.
