CHURCH HILL – William “Bill” Livesay, 80, of 623 Morning Star Road, passed away Friday (January 25, 2008) at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
Mr. Livesay was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a veteran of the US Army as a Master Marksman. He was retired from the Kingsport Press with 45 years service and attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William L., and Tobitha Larkins Livesay; one granddaughter, Kelli Lauren White.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret Martin Livesay, Church Hill; one son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Kathy Livesay, Gate City; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Mark Wooten, Mount Carmel; Robin and Vance White, Kingsport; grandchildren, Andy and John Wooten, Tyler and Alexandra “Alex” White; one sister, Fannie Lifford, Kingsport; several half-sisters; special friends, Kathy and David Moore, and April Chapman; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 1:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel.
Military graveside services conducted by the Hawkins County Color Guard and Tennessee National Guard will be Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Morning Star Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Moore, Hagan Davis, Joe Monroe, Jimmy Monroe, Pete Moore, Isaac “Ikie” Davis, Doug Larkin, and Jack McGinnis.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Morning Star Cemetery Fund, 623 Morning Star Road, Church Hill, TN 37642.
