MT. CARMEL – William “Willie” Edward Taylor, 82, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his residence.
Willie was a resident of Mt. Carmel for 50 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a member of Clay Lodge #386 F&AM Masonic Lodge in Church Hill, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Morgan II & Mary Leola Taylor; brother, David Taylor.
Willie is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ruth Taylor; sons, Christopher Taylor (Melody Elam) & William Andrew Taylor (Jessica Christian); grandchildren, Devin Davenport, Andrew “Drew” Taylor, April Ferguson, & Michael Elam; great grandchildren, Kacei Ferguson & Jaxon Elam; brothers, John Morgan Taylor III (Dawn) & Robert “Bobby” Alfred Taylor; sister-in-law, Vivan Taylor; along with several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or the Wellmont Foundation in Willie’s memory.
