Obituary of Mary Simpson

MOUNT CARMEL – Mary Frances Simpson, 74, of Mount Carmel, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday (April 11, 2017) at her home following an extended illness.

Mary Frances was a native of Virginia but had spent most of her adult life in Mount Carmel and was a member of Harvest Community Church. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother and caring sister and was loved by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Simpson, Sr.; her father, Rev. Carl E. Ramey and mother, Evelyn Taylor.

She is survived by one son, Willie Elmer Simpson, Jr. and wife, Brenda; two daughters, Anna Rhee Wallen and David Barnes; Deborah Stapleton; three grandchildren, Jason Gardner, Shayrea Worley and husband Jeff and Shonda Linkous; one great grandson, Landon Gardner; step-mother Doris Ramey, three brothers, Eugene Ramey, Michael Ramey and Bobbie Ramey; four sisters, Dorothy Duda, Lois Arrington, Minnie Rhoton and Viola Campbell; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.

Services will be conducted Friday at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bud Beverly officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Hill Cemetery, those desiring to attend should meet at the cemetery at 10:45 A.M.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Worley, David Barnes, Jason Gardner, Landon Gardner, Jimmy Goode and Jeffery Goode.
