KINGSPORT – Neal “Eddie” Christian, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2024

Neal graduated from Church Hill High School in 1964. After graduating, Neal enlisted in the U.S. Airforce where he served two tours in Vietnam. After returning home he attended trade school and went to work at TRW as a master tool maker, where he would retire after 35 years of service. Neal was a member and past Master of the Overton Lodge #5 F&AM as well as a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Neal was a faithful member of First Freewill Baptist Church when his health would allow him to go.

Neal is preceded in death by his parents, Garnie and Pauline Christian, and his loving wife Sonya Russell Christian.

Neal is survived by his Stepson Mark Newland; his beloved grandson, Ryan Newland, and his mother Jessica Newland; sister, Susie Honeycutt.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kermit Housewright, Bruce Lemmons, Boone Lawson, Rocky Clevenger, Mitch Clark, Ted Klien, Chuck Ross and James Patterson.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Church Hill Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the National Parkinsons Disease Foundation in Neal’s name.
