Shirley Christian Roberts Stapleton passed away peacefully at her home on June 11, 2024. She was born in Church Hill, TN and worked as a teacher, then guidance counselor at CHHS and VHS, retiring in 2001. She was an active member at FBC of Church Hill.

Most importantly, Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, family member, and friend. She had an enthusiasm for life and an unwavering love for her Savior. Her selflessness and kindness were evident to all that knew her. Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love, gratitude, and faithfulness.

Shirley was preceded in death by first husband Arlen Eugene Roberts and second husband Charles Stapleton; her parents FM and Gertrude Christian; daughter Tammy Moore; sister Marceleen Renfro (Wallace); and brothers Glenn (“Boot”) Christian and Don Christian.

Shirley is survived by her son Chris Roberts (Megan) and son-in-law Richard Moore; grandchildren Daniel Roberts (Chrissy) and Angela Foster (Cameron) (mother Rose Roberts), Magnolia Roberts, Christian Roberts, Clayton Moore, Chad Moore (Wilder); great-grandchildren Andrew Locke, Gage Roberts, Weston Roberts, Harper Foster, Adalynn Foster, and Fletcher Foster; sister Loretta Winstead (Bill); brother Ken Christian (Melissa); sisters-in-law Shirley Christian and Patricia Christian; members of the Stapleton family; and a number of special nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Immediately followed by the service and then the graveside at Church Hill Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
