CHURCH HILL – Barbara Hutson Mullins, 79, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Life Care Center of Gray.

Barbara was born in Kingsport but lived in Church Hill most of her life. She attended Mountain View Baptist Church. She worked in the public in restaurants, volunteer nurse, and was a caregiver. She was one of a kind who had a big heart. Barbara was well liked and loved to help and work with people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Samuel Mullins; parents, J.E. and Vona Walters, Kyle Hutson; brother, Christopher Hutson.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Faye Pounders (Billy); grandchildren, Billy Pounders, Jr. (Rachel Horner) and Taylor Pounders; 6 really special great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Cavin; brothers, Roy Hutson (Maysel), Curtis Moe Hutson (special sister-in-law, Marilynne), Bobby Hutson (Marilyn), and Paul Hutson (Barbara); several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Andy Sensabaugh and Billy Pounders officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Cooper Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Skelton, Billy Pounders, Jr., Dylan Pounders, Bill Smith, Todd Davenport, and John Mullins.

Many thanks goes to the staff at the Life Care Center of Gray and Amedisys Hospice, and special nurse Carolyn Thompson for all of the wonderful care provided to Barbara.
