Mount Carmel, TNBarbara Ann Simmons, age 67, of Mount Carmel, succumbed to lung cancer Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Holston Valley Hospital. A native of Norfolk, VA, Barbara moved to Church Hill in 2003. She was an active member of McFerrin United Methodist Church and was a retired Hair Stylist.Survivors include her mother, Patricia Cannon Murrell of Church Hill, father Robert Levi Murrell, Jr. of Norfolk, VA, Brother Chuck Murrell of Church Hill, daughters Patricia Clark and husband Bill of Church Hill, Tammy Fockler and Dave of Mount Carmel, grandchildren Alex Fockler, Chloe Clark, Kady Fockler and Brie Fockler.Calling hours are from 6 to 7 pm Tuesday at the McFerrin United Methodist Church. Memorial service will be conducted at 7 pm at the church with Pastor Bill Rhines officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 am Wednesday at the McPheeters Bend Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10 am Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill is honored to serve the Simmons family.
