Caelan Seth Ferguson, CHURCH HILL – Seth was born on May 24, 1998. He departed this life on August 23, 2023. He experienced cardiac arrest his second day in the hospital while being treated for pancreatitis. After which he spent a month in the ICU. He was 25.

Seth will be remembered as a gentle soul with the most limitless caring heart. He wrapped you in all enveloping hugs where you felt the warmth of his love. He was a curious soul, forever asking questions that explore the depths of the human experience, ever pursuing the truth of things. He challenged the norms and will be remembered for his unique perception into the world around us and the relationships he formed with so many. His profound love and devotion to his family, friends, and all those around him will be missed and felt forever. His family left to cherish his memory are his father, Chris Ferguson, brothers, Stefan Ferguson and Skylar Ferguson, his paternal grandparents, Rev. Truman and Kay Ferguson, his mother, Lesia Lawrence and husband Mark, his half-sister, Jadyn, and his maternal grandfather, Charles Ratliff.

Seth loved music. He wrote, composed, and performed his own songs, and enjoyed playing his favorite artists’ music as well. He also had a profound love of animals.
We will be forever grateful to the staff in the ICU at Holston Valley Hospital, especially the nurses who cared for Seth. You treated him so sweetly as if he was your own loved one. You were aware of, and took control of every one of his needs. You talked to him and soothed him when you thought he might be uncomfortable. And you extended your kindness to us his family as well. We will never forget your compassion.

Seth didn’t like being the center of attention, and per his wishes there will be no funeral services. A celebration of his life will be hosted by his family for his close friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Hawkins County Animal Shelter.

Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home of Church Hill is honored to serve the Ferguson family.
