Church Hill, TNCarolyn Euniav Phipps, born August 11, 1941, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2016 surrounded by family. Euniav was a caring friend, loved her family and liked to spoil her nephews and niece. She loved nature, cooking, decorating her home, traveling and being with family and friends.She graduated from Church Hill High School in 1959 and attended East Tennessee State University. Euniav worked at Rogers Hardware for many years and retired from Hawkins County Gas Company in Mt. Carmel. She was a lifelong member of Goshen Valley Church of God and served as treasurer for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Church Hill and Mt. Carmel Senior Citizens, she served on the board of the First Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability and also on the Mt. Carmel Chamber of Commerce Board.She is preceded in death by her parents; Harry and Lizzie Smith Phipps, great nephew; Evan Soggin.She is survived by her sister; Parolea Soggin of Colorado and her brother; Hugh and wife Becky of Indiana, nephews; Chad (Jeanne), Shane (Jeanna) of Indiana, Steven Soggin of Virginia, niece; Laura Abila of Colorado. She was also a loving great aunt to 7 great nieces and nephews.Calling hours are from 4 to 6 pm Sunday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kent Aiken officiating.
