CHURCH HILL – Connie Sue Way McKenzie, 62 of Church Hill, passed away Sunday (September 27, 2015) at Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center into the arms of Angels after a twenty four year courageous battle with cancer. She was a six time cancer survivor, now she is with Jesus walking the streets of gold.Connie was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Church Hill and a former employee of the Kingsport Press.She is preceded in death by her husband, Steven James McKenzie, her parents, Wiley F. Way and Betty Jo Way.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kim McKenzie, Ooltewah, TN; two brothers, Kenneth Way and wife, Trish, Chattanooga; Joe Way, Church Hill; two sisters, Nancy Clark and husband, Frank, Church Hill; Lindia Way, of Kingsport, her grandson; Keegan McKenzie; several nieces and nephews.Special thanks to KHO Staff at Allandale, Welmont W-3 and hospice staff and the home health nurses.Honoring Connie’s wishes a graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Church Hill Memory Gardens with Rev.
