David “Dave” Neal Wilmot, 59, of Church Hill, TN passed away suddenly in his home on Wednesday September 13th, 2017.David was a native of Marshall, Missouri and though he had traveled extensively in his life and enjoyed new places and meeting new people. He was a thirty-year resident of the Tri-Cities living and working in Johnson City, Jonesborough, Gray & Church Hill.David was preceded in death by his parents Richard Neal Wilmot of Independence, Missouri; Joyce Duncan Wilmot of St. Joseph. Missouri and his oldest son Andrew Neal Wilmot of Johnson City, Tennessee.He leaves behind his two precious sons Christopher David Wilmot of Church Hill and Lance Corporal Houston Charles Wilmot of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; one brother Dennis Wilmot, two sisters Bunny Findley and Lela Hilby and nieces Angie Markham Adams, Jenny Markham Wild and Brenda Wilmot, several nieces and nephews all of Wisconsin; two great nieces and a great nephew of Davie, Florida. Having never met a stranger, Dave also leaves behind many friends he considered family in Marshall, Missouri, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and here in the Tri-Cities area.Dave was a lifelong sports fan especially baseball. He coached all three sons when they were young and made special connections with boys he coached and all his son’s friends. He loved the sport and continued to follow and support them in their endeavors both on and off the field. He will have a special place in the hearts of all he touched over the last 30 years.Visitation hours will be from 5 to 7 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Church Hill, TN on Monday September 18th, 2017. A celebration of life service will be held at 7 PM with Rev. Josh Kilbourne officiating.In Lieu of flowers his sons ask you to support a cause that was very close to Dave’s heart which is the local Animal Shelters.
