CHURCH HILL – Don Marsh, 87, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at his residence surrounded by family.

He was born October 2, 1931 in Hawkins County to the late Thomas C. and Ethel Marsh.

Don retired from the Kingsport Press and spent his golden years doing what he loved – farming. Affectionately known as “the CEO,” he never stopped working, or telling others how to get the job done. Over the years, he plowed many gardens for friends and neighbors, and his greatest joy was sharing produce from his own garden. Don was a devoted father, husband and grandad.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Nadine Marsh; daughter-in-law, Susan Marsh; brothers, JT Marsh (Ella Mae), Douglas Lyle (Shirley); sister, Helen (Loyd) Tankersley.

Don is survived by his sons, Paul, Darryl (Debbie), and Stacey (fiancé Kim Stallard) Marsh; daughter, Kim (Gene) Ward; grandchildren Wendy Witenbarger, Rachel (Matt) Hall, Laura Ward, Amanda (David) Mowell, Kaitlin Ward, PJ Marsh, Joe Marsh; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence of Darryl and Debbie Marsh. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM. Graveside service will be Wednesday, February 20, at 11:00 AM at Marsh Cemetery on Mt. Zion Road. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession.
