MOUNT CARMEL – Helen Rose (Simpson) Necessary, 78, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Helen was born on April 25, 1945, in Hawkins County, TN, and lived most of her life in Mt. Carmel. She worked 20 years for the Kingsport Press at the Hawkins Co. plant. She was of the apostolic faith and enjoyed going to church. Helen served the Lord faithfully all her life and she and George were always there for their family, friends, and church friends when they needed her.
Helen is preceded in death by her mother, Nelly Simpson; loving husband, George Necessary; as well as several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her cousins, and one aunt, Nelda Simpson.
The family would like to thank her loyal caregiver, Michelle Barker, for the love and care she gave Helen over the last couple of years. A special thanks to her friend, Darrell Bishop, to the Kingsport Press Credit Union (Church Hill Branch), Hawkins Co. Rescue Squad, Mt. Carmel Police Dept., Mt. Carmel Fire Dept., and the staff at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home for helping Helen over the last few years.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 – 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Howard Edwards officiating. A graveside service will follow in procession to Liberty Hill Cemetery.
