Rogersville, TNJames E. Light, age 71, of Rogersville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Indian Path Hospital following an extended illness.James was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County, and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from the A.F.G. Greenland plant in 1991 with 24 years of service.He is preceded in death by his parents; Chester Roy Light, Sr. and Sarah Smith Light, brother; Chester Light, Jr. and sister Betsy Light.Survivors include his children; James Light II of Church Hill, Jason Light and wife, Melissa of Rogersville, Jacob Light of Church Hill, daughter; Jessica Light Gibbons and husband, Stacy of Surgoinsville. Grandchildren; Holden Light and Ashley Rush and her children, Lily and Lola Rush. Sisters; Lorene Hartsock and husband, Hiram of Idaho , Jean Head of Rogersville, Nella Mae Phillips of Rogersville, brother; Clifford H. Light and wife, Linda of Church Hill, and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours are from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 8 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Dolen and Rev. Fred Watson officiating.Graveside services will be conducted at 12:30 pm Sunday at the Bowser Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 11:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery.Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.Mr. Light requested the singers and ministers to wear casual clothing, no suits or ties.
