Mount Carmel, TNJerry Wayne Bailey, age 69, of Mount Carmel, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abington, Virginia following an apparent heart attack. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. He retired from the Tennessee Eastman Company as a supervisor in 1997 with 32 years of service. Jerry loved camping, hunting, fishing, golf and his greatest joy was the time he spent with his grandsons, Ty and Cole Evans. He was a wonderful guitar and banjo picker and loved to share his music in lifting up the name of Jesus, his Savior.He is preceded in death by his father, John Wayne Bailey.Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Beth Bailey of the home, Son; Ben Bailey and fiancé, Jenna of Moravian Falls, NC, daughter; Jodi Evans and husband, Cliff of Surgoinsville. Grandchildren; Ty Evans and Cole Evans of Surgoinsville, Mother; Kathleen Dudley of Tyler, Texas, brothers; Dan Bailey and wife, Vickey of Fayetteville, GA, Johnny Bailey and wife, Vicky of Tyler, Texas, sisters; Linda Hilton and Kathy Bailey of Tyler, Texas. Several nieces and nephews.Calling hours are from 5 to 7 pm Thursday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home . Funeral services will be conducted 7 pm Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Randy Presnell officiating.Graveside services will be conducted 11 am Friday at the Church Hill Memory Gardens. Family and friends wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home by 10:15 am Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
