MOUNT CARMEL – John D. Ragle, 75, passed away Friday (May 1, 2015) at Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.Mr. Ragle was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and was a member of Mount Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church, and attended the Bradshaws Chapel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army and served approximately 25 years in the Army Reserves.He was a retired employee of Holliston Mills.He is preceded in death by his parents, Talmage and Lelia Gentry Ragle; three sisters, Shirley Clark, Betty Pippin and Elizabeth Ragle; four brothers, Jim Ragle, Terry Ragle, Gene Ragle and Gary Ragle.He is survived by two daughters, Beth Marshall and husband, Mike, Church Hill, Karen Ragle, Church Hill;His former wife, Rhonda Ragle, Mount Carmel; step sons, Phillip Childress and wife, Traci, Mount Carmel; Adam Childress, Kingsport; Mike Morelock and wife, Sherry, Mount Carmel; two granddaughters, Morgan Marshall and Alexis Dixon; three step grandsons, Blake, Hunter and Brandon Childress; two step granddaughters, Hannah Logan and Lauren Childress; two brothers, Wallace Ragle and Larry Ragle, both of Church Hill; several nieces and nephews.Calling hours for the family will be from 2 to 4 pm Tuesday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home.Military Graveside services conducted by American Legion Posts #3/265 Honor Guard will be conducted Tuesday at 4:00 P.M. at Church Hill Memory Gardens.Pallbearers will be family and friends.The family would like to thank the Pharmacist and the staff of the Food City Pharmacy for their loving care and help during John's illness.To leave an online message for the Ragle family, please visit us @ www.jfhonline.comJohnson-Arrowood Funeral Home is serving the Ragle family.
