CHURCH HILL – Linda Gibbons Gilliam, 68, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, after a brief illness at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Linda was born in Kingsport, Tennessee to John A. and Jessie Price
Gibbons on May 15th, 1955. She graduated from Church Hill High School in 1973. She went on to earn a certificate in cosmetology and later worked as a hairdresser at Janalena Beauty Salon in Mount Carmel for many years. Linda spent many of her early years of marriage living in Hawaii and Norfolk, Virginia with her husband Gary while he was in the service. Linda was a faithful member of Liberty Hill Evangelical Methodist Church for many years.

She is preceded in death by her father, John A.; mother, Jessie, infant brother, Pat; sister, Shirley Carver; and mother-in-law, Sue Gilliam.

Linda is survived by her husband, Gary; and son, Jonathan of the home. She is also survived by her twin sister, Brenda Gibson and husband Keith; nephew, John Keith Gibson (Melissa); and nieces, Sarah Gibson-Ortega (Bryan), and Katie Hagood (Adam); great-niece, Charlotte Gibson; and great-nephews, Michael Hagood, and Jesse Hagood. She also leaves behind many cherished cousins.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She cherished her faith and family above all else. Her love, compassion, and faith were evident to all who knew her and were fortunate enough to call her friend. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
A visitation will be held at Johnson-Arrowood on Sunday, April 28th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 with Rev. Terry Hommel and Rev. Adam Hagood officiating. Burial will follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens. John Gibson, Adam Hagood, Bryan Cerda-Ortega, Jerry Walters, David Begley, and Richard Begley will be serving as pallbearers.
