Lola “Blanche” Derrick (Benton) was born November 12, 1949, and went to be with our Lord November 24, 2023, in Church Hill, surrounded by family, due to an extended illness. Blanche was a member of Grassy Creek Freewill Baptist Church for 35 years. Blanche enjoyed spending time with her family, especially getting to spoil her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Benton and sisters, Wanda “Faye” Davis and Brenda “Sue” Stapleton and daughter, Debra “Debbie” Derrick. She is survived by her son, William “Steve” Derrick, and daughter Marcie Derrick. Her granddaughters (daughter) Kayla Faulkner (Theodore), Breanna Derrick, Ashley Berry (Aaron) and Chloe Davenport as well as her Grandson Dillon Carter (Taylor). Great Grandchildren are Dalton and Braeden Mullins, Raygun Faulkner, Brylee and Callie Brice, Alexus and Parker Nicely, Paisley and Hudson Carter, Joleigh and Mia Marcum and Zayla and Waverly Berry.

Services will be held at Johnson-Arrowood on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 5 to 7 with Dennis Spears officiating. Burial will be at the Benton Cemetery at 1 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:15 PM to go in procession. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
