Mabel Ruth Bradshaw CHURCH HILL- Mabel Ruth Bradshaw, 99, passed away on Monday (February 24, 2014) at her residence. She was born in Hawkins County and returned for her retirement. She was the oldest member of First United Methodist Church of Church Hill. She began her career at Kingsport Press during the depression and worked there until 1963. She resumed her book making career in 1968 at the Government Printing Office in Washington D.C. and worked there until she retired in 1981. She was preceded in death by her parents, Corneilous C. and Lelia Christian Bradshaw, husband, Joseph Lahendro, brothers; Robert, Curtis, Ed, Paul, and Fred Bradshaw, sisters; Lola Wallace, Nancy Miller, Janell Akard, and Barbara Bradshaw. She is survived by her two sisters, Hazel Stroupe of Church Hill, and Wanda Renner of Limestone, nieces and caregivers; Jody Hall and husband, Charlie, Vickie Wagner and husband, Mike, step daughter, Jill Lahendro of Richmond, VA, step sons; Louis Lahendro and wife, Ruth of Aiken, SC, and Jody Lahendro of Charlottesville, VA, step granddaughters; Elizabeth and Rachel Lahendro, several other nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. In the funeral home chapel with Rev. Josh Kilbourne officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mike Wagner. Graveside services will be conducted following the service at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matt Hall, J.P. Wagner, Heath Davidson, Charlie Hyder, Austin Hyder, and Neil Bradshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be Evan and Eli Davidson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her excellent caregivers.
