CHURCH HILL – Margaret Livesay, 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Margaret was born in Hawkins Co., TN on April 4, 1930. She lived in Church Hill most of her life and spent the last seven years in Kingsport. Margaret worked several years for the Kingsport Press, and S & S Custom Tapes. She was of the Baptist faith, and a dedicated member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Margaret loved to cook and loved to cook for her family and friends. She loved her family, neighbors, and her church family with all her heart, and loved everyone she met. Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Livesay; parents, Lee Roy and Oleta (Churchwell) Martin; sister, Linda Bright, brothers, James Martin, Joe Martin, Willard Martin, and Frank Martin; and her granddaughter, Kelli Lauren White.

Margaret is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Kathy Livesay, Gate City; two daughters and son-in-law, Pam and Mark Wooten, Mount Carmel and Robin White, Kingsport; grandchildren, Andy and Amy Wooten, John and Tabitha Wooten, Tyler and Linley White, Alexandra “Alex” and James Carter; great grandchildren, Charlie Belle, Rhett, Avery, Tuck, Jack, and Boone; sisters, Bertie Shoemaker, and Dessa Woods; brothers and sisters-in law, Roy and Juanita Martin, and John and Sophia Martin; special friends, Kathy Baker, David Moore, April Chapman, and Pete Moore; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Margaret’s caregiver, Barbara Glass, for the love and care given to Margaret.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will follow the funeral service in procession to Morning Star Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Wooten, John Wooten, James Carter, Donald Bagley, David Moore, Danny Cooter and Tyler White.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Morning Star Cemetery, 1130 Morning Star Road, Church Hill, TN 37642.
