Church Hill, Mary Morgan Brooks, 59, passed away on February 23, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.
Mary was saved at an early age at Mt. Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church. Mary loved to help people in any way she could, she was a very kindhearted person.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Wayne Morgan; husband, Michael Brooks; son Jackson Lawson; maternal grandparents, George and Ursula Johnson; paternal grandparents, Emory and Blanche Morgan.
Those left to cherish Mary’s memory are her son, T.J. Lawson; mother, Stella Morgan; brother, Eddie Morgan; sister, Ann (Kirk) LaVeck, along with several nieces and cousins. Special friends, Rose Messick, Ricky Messick and Michael (L.A) Garrett.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and friends and family may stop by at the home of Mary’s mother Stella Morgan. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Elder Robert Brown and Pastor Earl Dunn officiating. A graveside service will follow to Ross Campground Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
