CHURCH HILL – Mrs. Jean Winegar Frazier, 89, went home to be with the Lord on, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Jean was born in Kingsport, TN on January 16, 1935. She was a graduate of Lynn View High School and resided in Sullivan Co. until she married her husband in 1953. They moved to Hawkins Co. where they spent the remainder of their lives together. She retired as a clerk and worked nearly 30 years at the Hawkins County Clerk’s office. She was on the board of, Of One Accord Ministries, and served two terms on the Hawkins Co. Commission, 1st District. She was of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Church Hill. She was a big UT and Atlanta Braves fan. Jean was a phenomenal cook, especially desserts, and loved her sweets. Jean was a people person, and over the years had made many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl D. Frazier; parents, Robert William and Ora (Rowland) Winegar; sisters, Edith Morgan, and Nell Dexter; brother, Robert William, Jr.; and her son-in-law, Tony Moore.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Karen Moore; son Steven Frazier; grandchildren, John Carl Frazier and Jacob Frazier (Leah), and Rachel Giampietro (Bruno); great grandchildren, Elena and Camila Giampietro; sister, Ruth Jones; many dear nieces and nephews; as well as several extended family members, and many dear friends.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Church Hill. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary. A graveside service will follow in procession to Church Hill Memory Gardens.
