“Embrace the heartbreak of losing a loved one, for that means you have felt true love! Sadness is the memory of those lost that stirs no emotion.” Kingsport, TN – Patsy Salling Mann, age 62, of Kingsport, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital & Medical Center following a brief illness. Patsy was born in Kingsport and had lived in Hawkins County during most of her childhood. She had lived in Mentor, Ohio from 1969 to 1985 before moving to Gate City, VA where she resided from 1985 to 1997. She has lived in Kingsport since 1997. She retired from nursing after many years of service. Patsy was of the Baptist faith. Patsy is preceded in death by her father, James H. Salling, and one brother, Jeffrey Salling. Surviving to cherish her memories include her loving husband of 44 years, Cary Mann of the home; Son, Ray Mann of Kingsport; Grandson, Caleb H. Mann of Kingsport; Mother, Eloise Nickles Salling of Kingsport; Sister, Lois Salling Herron and husband, Joe of Gate City, VA; Special niece, Amy Fields and husband Tim of Kingsport; Special Great-nephew, Mason Jeffrey Fields of Kingsport and several other brothers & sisters-in-law. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. Funeral service will follow at 8 PM with the Rev. L.W. “Red” Salling officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday at the Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Tuesday morning to go in procession to the cemetery. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to give a special thanks for all the thoughts and prayers on Patsy’s behalf, also to the Holston Valley CCU and 3rd floor Wilcox Hall nursing staff.
