Raymond Cole BurtonChurch Hill, TNAfter a lengthy battle with cancer, on November 8, 2016 at 4:30 PM Raymond Cole Burton slipped his earthly bonds and was welcomed into his Heavenly home. Raymond was a Christian of the Baptist faith, he was a member of the Higher Ground Baptist Church.Raymond resided 81 years in East Tennessee and was employed by General Shale Products for 39 ½ years before his retirement. Raymond was a devoted husband to his wife Annette Burton of 55 years, he was also a proud father of “His Boys” David and Chris, who he loved dearly.Raymond is preceded in death by his father and mother; Patrick and Bess Burton, and sister; Odell Garretson.Raymond is survived by his wife; Annette Burton, sons and daughters in law; David R. Burton and Amee Burton of Mooresville, Indiana, Christopher C. Burton and Kim Burton of Erwin, TN, sister; Jean B. Young of Bristol, VA. Grandchildren; Brenden and Mackenzie Burton, Briley Jaynes, Lacy and Schae Bowman, and many precious nieces and nephews who he dearly loved.Calling hours are from 12 to 2 PM Friday at the Johnson – Arrowood Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gary Gerhardt officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery with Brenden Burton, Ralph Trent, Bill Johnson, Jason Salley, Tyler Salley, George Osborne and Robert Copp serving as pallbearers.
