CHURCH HILL – Robert Brooks, 84, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at his residence.

Rob was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He loved farming and drove a school bus for Hawkins County for 57 ½ years. Rob was inducted into the School Bus Hall of Fame in Nashville and holds the state record for driving a school bus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Oma Brooks; brothers, Luther Brooks, Donald Brooks, Joe Brooks, and Jack Brooks; sisters, Cleo Split and Muriel Jarvis.

Rob is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Janice Brooks; son, Johnny Brooks, wife Melissa; grandson, Seth Brooks; special nephew, Hugh Jarvis; several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM to go in procession.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
