Mrs. Sallie Miller Bussell, age 93, of Kingsport, TN, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Brookhaven Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. Sallie was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County and Scott County, Virginia. She was a member of the Valley Center United Methodist Church in Stanley Valley where she served as the piano player for many years.She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bussell, Sr. in 1991, daughter; Janie Bussell in 2010, parents; Fred Dewolfe Miller and Frances Lyons Miller and brothers and sisters.Survivors include her sons,; Joe Bussell, Fred Bussell and wife Diane, grandchildren; Josh, Travis, Kayla Fielden and husband, John, step granddaughter; Teena Grills, step great grandchildren; Lee and Timothy (Micco). Sister-in-law; Virginia Shelton Miller, special friends; Roberta Tabor, Sandy Helton, Mary Kate and Teresa Grizzell, several nieces and nephews and her church family.Calling hours are from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Friday at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home in Church Hill. The family will also receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday at the Valley Center United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 8564 Stanley Valley Rd, Gate City, VA.Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating. Edd McLain and the True Faith Quartet will be singing. Burial will follow in the Church Hill Memory Gardens with Jerry Peek, Joel Lawson, John Chapman, Will Chapman, Travis Bussell, Josh Bussell and John Fielden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Hollis Anderson, Butch Anderson, Jack D. Anderson, Marcel Gibbons, Bruce Roberts, Jerry Gibbons and Jackie Davis.
