CHURCH HILL – Steven “Steve” Earl Barker, 68, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.

Steve was born on June 28, 1954, in York, PA to Earl and Edith Barker. He was a graduate of Upland High School. He was a movie fanatic, loved working on cars, and was always joking around and cutting up. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and Steve loved his family above all else.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Edith Barker; and two sons, Shawn and Sloan Barker.

Steve is survived by his “ole’ lady”, wife and best friend of 38 years, Donnie Turner; children, Steven Sullivan (Heather), Brandon Barker, Naomi Barker- Longfellow, Christina Snapp (Heather), William Snapp, Shannon Snapp (Lauren), Sonnie Barker (Leighanna), Kenneth Light, Ray Jones, Kyle Dishner (Camille Davis), Shawna Gillenwater (Kevin), and Bubba Castle; grandchildren, Kaiden, Sophea, Chevie, and Leo Barker, Liam, Kingstynn, and Kaesleigh Gillenwater, Kyle Dishner II, Mckenleigh Castle, Chloe, Jaxson, and Wyatt Snapp, Bryson, Jordan, and June Sullivan, Destiny Engle, Avery Schaeffer, and Payton Snapp; great grandchild, Adeline Berge; special niece, Kimberly Barker, and Chelsea Phillips; nephews, Jarred Lawson, Jason Witt (Pam), and Robert Witt (Whitney); brothers, Roger, and Brian Barker; sisters, Debbie Barker, Judy Skeens, and Renee James; as well as several other extended family members and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks the memorial contributions be made to Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
