Johnson-Arrowood Funeral HomeChurch Hill, TN357-4113 CHURCH HILL – Walter Wendell Christian, 75, went home to be with the Lord, Friday (June 5, 2015) at Church Hill Health and Rehab following an extended illness. Wendell was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and a member of Belmont Baptist Church. He was a retired truck driver for Mason-Dixon and also Yellow Freight Lines. Wendell was a two time truck Driving State Rodeo Champion and 3rd runner up at the Nationals. He was such a fun loving person and would go to any extent to play a joke on someone. He was a great father, grandfather and a friend to all and his legacy will continue on. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean Wells Christian; his parents, Ira and Kathleen Carr Christian; brothers, Reese Christian, Roy C. Christian, Eugene Christian, J. Carr Christian and Porter Wayne Christian, one sister, Martha Kathleen Christian. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Carla Christian, Church Hill, Darin and Debbie Christian, Kingsport, Chris and Tabatha Christian, Church Hill; six grandchildren, Heather Nicole Christian, Whitney Jean Christian, Katie Lynn Christian, Megan Shae Christian, Emily Brooke Christian and Bryson Christopher Christian; one brother, Daniel O. Christian, White Pine, TN; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home and anytime at the residence. A celebration of his life will be conducted Monday at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. James Adams officiating. Military gravesides services will be Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jason Conkin, Joel Conkin, Brandon Wells, Danny Christian, Ronnie Everhart and Tad Millsap. Honorary bearers will be Tim Christian and Darin McClellan.
